Two valuable iguanas were stolen from a Tooele pet store Wednesday night, according to Tooele City Police.
The burglary occurred at Rockstar Pets on North Main Street, according to police. Nothing else from the store was stolen.
Jen Walters, store manager at Rockstar Pets, said a male and female iguana were stolen. The male was a Crutchfield Albino Iguana, which is a rare morph of the reptile. The pair was worth more than $2,400, she said.
The store’s opening on Thursday was delayed by the police investigation, Walters said. The store’s security cameras had been turned off prior to the robbery, she said.
“All the employees are upset,” Walters said. “It’s an invasion of safety.”
The method of entry from the pet store has not been released, police said. The case is still under investigation by the Tooele City Police Department.
